HOME In regard to breeding, we follow the German philosophy in that two dogs should only be breed if the results will improve the German Shepherd breed. There are many things that must be considered before breeding two dogs. Their bloodlines, physical makeup, temperament and genetics must all be analyzed very carefully. This is done in order to produce the highest quality puppies. I tell people that when they are shopping for a German Shepherd puppy to only deal with an experienced professional breeder, and by all means only invest in a dog of true German lines or what we refer to as a real German Shepherd.

At Vom Zeder Haus we believe in quality not quantity. We only raise one or two litters a year. This allows us to devote more time to each individual puppy, giving it the care and socialization it need before going to its new home, and we are very selective about where our puppies go after leaving our home.

Even though dogs of this bloodline all possess superior intelligence, temperament and trainability, they are like people in that they have different personalities. For that reason we do much temperament testing and gain information about a potential buyers lifestyle in order to help match the right person to the right dog. Of course we only give advice, so it is ultimately up to the buyer as to which puppy they choose.

The price of a Vom Zeder Haus puppy is $950.00 plus any shipping costs that apply. This is only a fraction of what other breeders with this bloodline sell their puppies for. If you shop around, you will discover that. Our puppies come with a full registration and a written warranty against any genetic defect including hip displasia. Hip displasia, however, is very rare in this bloodline. Never purchase a German Shepherd puppy unless the parents have been OFA certified and you get a written warranty against this disease.

The dog that you choose will be a member of your family for ten to fifteen years. Only a German Shepherd of world class beauty, intelligence, working ability, and temperament is worthy of your investment.
